The Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC, financed by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, helps Regions of Europe work together to share experience and good practice in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk prevention. EUR 302 million is available for project funding but, more than that, a wealth of knowledge and potential solutions are also on hand for regional policy-makers.

The organisation Socioeconomic Promotion Association for Hoya Buñol-Chiva Region is responsible for the global development of 7 municipalities in the centre of the Valencia region: Alborache, Buñol, Cheste, Chiva, Godelleta, Macastre and Yátova. The executive Committee of the organisation is composed of the 7 mayors of the municipalities.

The most important strategic objective in the development of the territory is the development of a potent and sustainable tourist sector and sustainable rural and eco- development. This aim is reached in collaboration of all public and private actors involved in economic, socio-cultural and environmental processes. It supports various exchanges of experiences and transfer of knowledge through a European network of rural development and international cooperation projects, in order to optimize the endogenous resources of the area for its harmonious and integrated development.

The Socioeconomic Promotion Association for Hoya Buñol-Chiva Region serves as a centre of information related to local and regional development both nationally and internationally. It is also partner of the Valencia Government in various projects, especially related to rural development, which enables the organisation to influence regional administration towards new ways of promotion and assistance of the small crafts sector.
